We understand that designing an album can be time-consuming. That’s why we offer a free album design service to lend a helping hand.
How to Request a Design
If you’d like us to create your design for free, simply visit designer.folioalbums.com. Upload the images you want included in the design and then click ‘Request Free Design’. We will email you as soon as possible with an expected completion date for your design, which typically takes 5 working days or less.
What We Need
To ensure your album design looks its absolute best and to keep our design service free, we limit the number of images you can include. The maximum is based on an average of 4 images per spread.
Simply multiply the number of spreads in your album by 4 to find your image limit. For example, a standard 15-spread album allows up to 60 images.
This guideline helps give each photo the space it deserves, resulting in a clean and elegant design.
How to Name Your Files
Please Note: Before uploading, make sure your images are renamed sequentially and we suggest using a three-digit sequence number at the beginning of each filename, such as:
001_filename.jpg
002_filename.jpg
...
010_filename.jpg
011_filename.jpg
etc.
Using a three-digit sequence number ensures that the images appear in the correct order when uploaded. The leading zeros (e.g., 001
instead of 1
) are important because they help maintain the proper numerical sequence, particularly when dealing with more than nine or ten images. Without leading zeros, some computer systems might sort 10
before 2
, which can disrupt the intended sequence of your images.
Please note: We may need to reject free design requests if the files aren’t named correctly, as this makes it difficult for us to create your album efficiently.
What’s Included
Our free album design service includes the initial design free of charge. This takes the initial burden off yourself, but as the design lives in your account, you can then make as many amendments as you wish before or after sharing the design with your client. If you need us to make additional changes, charges will apply.
What Happens when my Design is Completed?
Once we have completed your design, you will receive an email notification. You can view the completed design by returning to the designer page.
To share the design with your clients, simply click the ‘Share Design’ button. Your clients will then be able to add comments directly on the relevant spreads. If any changes are required, you can either make them yourself by clicking ‘Edit Spreads’, or you can email the requested changes to us.
