Folio Albums HQ Covid-19 Updates

18th May 2020

Workshop Now Open!

As of Monday 11th May, we reopened the workshop with a small team to begin working on your orders.

We have put in place a comprehensive range of safety procedures and our team will be supplied with protective equipment. These changes will take a little time to get used to so please bear with us as we adopt our new working practices. This does mean production times will increase slightly, and as a result, there will be a delay in shipping your orders. Over the forthcoming days, we will be allocating new expected ship dates. Please consider these as an indicative date as they may be subject to change.

As we phase back to work our main focus will be on albums, boxes and presentation products from our main store. The fine art prints website will remain closed until we've cleared a little of the backlog.

Key points
  • The workshop reopened on Monday 11th May with a reduced team
  • Production times will increase
  • New ship dates will be allocated in the coming days
  • prints.folioalbums.com will remain closed for now

On behalf of the entire Folio Albums team, I would like to thank all of our amazing customers for trusting us with your orders over the past 6 weeks. We're looking forward to getting back to handmaking your beautiful products.

Pressing Pause on Production

With a heavy heart, we have made the difficult decision to temporarily close our doors at the end of business today and halt all production. Our team members will be at home isolating themselves & their families in an attempt to curtail the spread of Coronavirus here in the UK.

We'll still be online to help with queries, to process your orders and to offer you our support wherever needed. We have an amazing and dedicated team, so please know that your orders are in safe hands. Keep them coming.

Things are changing daily and rest assured that as soon as the situation improves, we'll be straight back to work handcrafting your beautiful albums. We will keep you up to date on any developments.

Please feel free to use this time to take advantage of our reduced pricing and other support resources. Also, why not take the opportunity to book a consultation or video product tour. We'll be on hand to answer any of your queries during our usual working hours.

We hope to be back doing what we love very soon. In the meantime, please take care of your families and yourselves.

Warm wishes from all at Folio.

Questions & Answers

When will I get my order?

We worked hard to get as many orders complete before we shut down; however, it wasn't possible to finish them all. Sadly we can't give you a ship date at this moment, yet, as we're a very agile business, we're confident that the delay following our return will be minimal.

Can I still speak to someone about my order?

Sure, give us a call on +44(0)1226799004 and if we don't answer just leave a message and we'll call you back. We're working remotely so subject to possible Internet slowdown due to everyone watching Netflix!

What happens if I place an order while you're closed?

We will process and check your files as per usual. This can all be done remotely. Each order will then be queued for production, so upon our return, they will be processed in the order in which they were received. Although we can't confirm expected ship dates, if your order is urgent we suggest placing it as soon as possible to be at the front of the queue. Don't forget though; we need the files before an order is placed in the production queue.

Are FREE album designs still available?

Absolutely. Simply request a free design via the usual method. If it's your first time requesting a free design get in touch and we'll talk you through it.

I heard about your reduce pricing programme and support resources. Where do I find it?

Production update

A few weeks ago I was speaking to the team here at Folio Albums about our exciting expansion plans and the opportunity 2020 presented for our industry. Fast-forward to today and I found myself updating my team on the changes we need to make to our business and how it will help save lives. Sombre times.

There is a tremendous amount of uncertainty in the months ahead as we battle an invisible enemy which is why we at Folio Albums want to play our part in trying to stop the spread of the virus. With this in mind, I have decided to scale back our operations to the bare minimum. This means that most of the Folio team will be at home to isolate themselves and their families in an attempt to curtail the spread of Coronavirus here in the UK. The small team remaining will also be safer with fewer people in the office, resulting in greater social distancing.

These measures will, however, have an impact on our ability to deliver your orders within our usual quick turnaround time. Currently, I’m unsure how much longer we may need to fulfil your orders; however, we will keep you updated, and I ask for your understanding if there are some delays. We will do our very best to get your orders shipped as promptly as we can.

By transitioning to a reduced workforce, we can continue to support you and your business as well as helping us all battle this terrible disease.

Our website is open for business, and I hope you will trust us with your orders in the knowledge that we are in a solid position to weather the storm with an amazing supportive team and a strong balance sheet. We are committed to supporting you and your business.

We are also working on a number of product and pricing offers to help support the community which we’ll be sharing with you later this week.

I’m entirely behind the mantra “we’re in this together” which I’m convinced will not only help us all get through this but will also be our rallying call once we return to a normal way of life.

Stay safe, look after one another and let’s beat this together.

Stewart.

We're in this together

We appreciate the worry and concern the Coronavirus is causing, and we are continuing to closely monitor the guidelines issued by the Government. Our top priority remains the health and well-being of our team and we are doing everything we can to balance this with our business commitments to our valued customers. We all belong to a delicate ecosystem and it’s important we help each other through these difficult times.

Keeping the business running

The entire team is passionate about continuing to deliver a world-class service and product. We are working hard to minimise any impact the virus may have on our day-to-day operations. As a result we have implemented the following action plan:

We are following government guidelines on hygiene.

  • All face-to-face meetings are being carried out via video conferencing.
  • We are poised to implement a shift work pattern for our production team. This may result in slightly extended production times and we ask for your support as we believe this the best approach to help reduce the risk of spreading the virus among our team.
  • In addition, our Customer Care team is ready to help via the usual channels during the normal working week. We have good stock levels and are ready to fulfil orders.

Supporting the industry

As you know we love to help wherever we can and we are currently working on the below initiatives:

  • We are in the process of putting together a collection of resources to help you and your business.
  • We are joining up with other industry leaders to ease the financial burden on your business - more on this to be announced soon.
  • We are available for consultation sessions for advice on marketing, selling or just a general catchup.

We will keep you updated as things progress and we thank you all for your continued support.

If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to get in touch with us. Call us on +44(0)1226 799004, hello@folioalbums.com or live chat with us on the website.
