It's Time to Show Up

Wedding show season is getting close so now is the perfect time to invest in new samples. However, what if shows/fairs aren’t your thing, or you don’t have any booked? Does that leave you out? Absolutely not! In-fact it's just as important for you to up your sample game.

If you’re not heading to an in-person show or fair it’s time to set up your virtual stall. This could be a page on your website, social media or newsletter/direct email, designed to show off your offering.  Make sure you have studio samples of the products you offer and they’re up to date with your favourite combinations and photography. Then you can concentrate on a desirable set up to draw clients in.

Here are our top tips to get the most out of show season, if you’re attending one or not.

I'm not attending a fair/show

1. Take beautiful imagery of your products.

Do your clients know you offer albums? Do you show them regularly? This one might seem obvious, but if you don’t put them out there then your clients might not be aware you offer a great range.

2. Write friendly copy with a spoken style.

How would you describe the albums if you were having a chat with a client? Make it personal and add why you love your products.

3. Create a call to action.

If you finished a great chat with someone at a trade show you would take their details, pass on yours or maybe hand them a brochure/flyer to take home. Finish your virtual stall with an action. For example “download my album brochure”, “Get in touch for pricing”, “Book a Zoom call to get started” etc.

I am attending a fair/show

1. Albums and product are a great way to make you stand out from the crowd.

Create a show stopping sample and display it proudly. Make it easy and accessible for people to view and touch, this can be a game changer!

2. Albums and products are a great way to show your portfolio.

Keep this in mind when deciding what albums to take with you. People viewing your stand will try to envisage themselves in your work so make sure its tip-top and a great representation of what you can do.

3. Pre prepare an album package.

If you can sense high interest in your albums, it's a good idea to pre prepare a package where an album is included. An album might be the deciding factor for choosing you as their photographer.

Make the most of this time

Shows and fairs are a brilliant way to interact with your target market and have invaluable chats about their pain points. They also get to experience you in person, see and touch your products which is the ultimate way to sell. However, if you’re not attending a wedding show this year don’t feel left behind. If Covid has taught us anything, it's how we can adapt to life online, get out there and show your amazing business off!
