Freedom Tour Diary 2013: Birmingham Tour Stop

Birmingham was an amazing place to wrap up our 2013 Freedom Tour – Wootten Park, as a bigger venue, was ideally suited to all of our tour needs! We had acres of room to enjoy the beautiful grounds, amazing sunshine, socialising with our tour attendees, and getting some fantastic photographs. Complete with a lake, beach, and rowing boat, the Aspire team had the styled shoot locations sorted straight away!

The entire day had an amazing chilled and relaxed feel. Whilst the shoots were happening near the lake and on the grounds, we commandeered the converted barn and patio area for hanging out with some vintage ice cream from Annie’s Antics, some cheese toasties from the Jabberwocky, and lounging on blanket-covered hay bales in the shade. (After all, the boys had already over-worked their tan!) Oh! – and we also used the barn to show off our products and programmes alongside Epson, Olympus and Light Blue!

We made the most of having lots of room by having our bindery team hop on board the tour convoy at Wootten Park. We knew how much you guys wanted to see the magic happening with our hand-made covers, and also get hands on yourself! Holly, our master bookbinder, was keen to poach one tour attendee – Mamad – since he sat and did all four corners of one cover incredibly neatly! [Most attendees tried their hand at one or two, and then moved on to make some personalised leather bookmarks!]

After all of the planning that went into our tour, we love just how amazing everything turned out. We couldn’t have chosen a better week for the sunshine to come on tour with us – and we can’t wait until next year to plan something bigger, better, and to come and see all of you again – if only we could tour every month!

I’ll leave you with a slideshow of some amazing images of the day – courtesy of Joanne Withers. She provided the Team Folio members who were holding down the fort at Folio HQ with an album worth of images so that we could live vicariously through her.

We loved the unofficial live-feed of the day! So check out some fantastic shots below:

Now… we’d better get planning for next year!

See you soon!
