Freedom Tour Diary 2013: Manchester Tour Stop

Our tour kicked off to a great start yesterday at The Green Dragon in Manchester.

Stewart and John loved chatting to everyone who came along but, boys being boys, they got caught up in the day and didn’t reapply their sunscreen. This morning they are a little sunburnt, so SPF 50 is definitely the order of the day for Bristol!

Stewart gave a few demos of our new album design software – and everyone couldn’t wait to try it out! It will be released soon, so get ready to let all your design woes melt away…

The Tour Bundle offer got everyone excited – it will be on the store by Monday so keep your eyes peeled!

The boys were busy chatting and shooting all day, so check out the gallery of images on our Zenfolio Freedom Tour site.

Hamish from Light Blue showed a constant stream of photographers how to revolutionise their admin ready for the summer photographic season. He had a fantastic day and loved the enthusiastic response from everyone there!

The Aspire styled shoots brought a very French / Parisian look and feel to the summery day. The models [and the Aspire girls] all dressed to the theme in red, white, and blue – stripes were definitely the order of the day!

Here’s Rachel from Aspire, relaxing with Florence before getting the styled shoots ready to go:

Armed with a multitude of props from strings of garlic and onions, to vintage cameras, wine, and loaves of bread – Aspire ensured that everyone who took part in the styled shoots got some fantastic shots to remember the day, and Epson were on hand to print out any favourite snaps.

Everyone who took part really enjoyed their shoot slot – and we have loved seeing the images come in over Twitter, it’s allowing everyone back at Folio HQ to live vicariously through our photographers!

Not quite content with the Parisian props, the Aspire team even managed to convince a couple of bikers to come along so that the models could pose with a vintage Triumph motorbike – between Van Outen, Florence, and the Triumph yesterday’s tour date felt like a blend between a photography day, and a vintage vehicle day!

Van Outen couldn’t help photo-jacking our shot of Matt and Florence, the Triumph intimidated her a bit though – so we managed to get one of him on his own, and then Van Outen got her very own side snap.

Stewart managed to get in a few shots with Hayley, one of the Aspire models, on the OM-D – here’s his favourite image from Manchester (taken using the f/1.8 75mm lens):

Today we are driving down to Bristol for the second leg of our tour – John didn’t quite believe Stewart about the brakes in Van Outen, but since he’s driving this morning he got to experience them for himself.

Van Outen, on the other hand, is very pleased with how she is driving around and modelling for our tour. She is currently trundling along to Bristol with Stewart and John at a leisurely 51 mph. Apologies to any fellow motorway-ers!

Stewart and John are loving documenting the tour on the OM-Ds – don’t say anything to Olympus but they’re thinking of plans to smuggle one back at the end of the tour. We’ll have to wait and see if they manage to keep one!

That’s it from Manchester, check back tomorrow for all the Bristol action!

See you soon
