This week’s Folio Friday Foto is taken from Andy Rapkins’s latest client album.
The image instantly stood out for how it differed to the usual everyone-holding-up-the-bride/groom photographs. This is the first time that we’ve seen a lift-up Grandma photograph – and from her expression it doesn’t look like something that would willingly take off!
Usually the people being lifted look happy and quite get into the photograph [even if they don’t really feel it] but we loved the fact that Grandma kept quite stiff, with bent elbows, and a stern disapproving expression – you just know that someone will have a swift telling off once the photograph is taken! I also loved the contrast between the laughing faces of the rest of the lifters, and the angelic facial expression of the bride. The way that everyone is posed is absolutely perfect.
So, here’s something a little different than the usual bridal family shots. Forget bride and groom lifts – the next craze is going to be lifting Grandma:
