When Kate Hopewell-Smith sent through her latest portrait album with our new Photo Cotton cover, we were very excited to see the finished article. As expected the result was a beautiful example of how natural cotton and stunning photography can come together to create a quality album cover.

The Photo Cotton cover is a half panama 100% natural cotton material and is available on our main albums.

Cover text imprinting

We love imprinting your client’s names on the front cover, it’s a lovely detail that finishes off an album – see image above. However, it seems like 1 line of text was just not enough! So after numerous requests we thought we’d give you the option of adding a second line. No essays allowed, but you now have a little more freedom with adding text to your album cover.

Below is a excerpt from our Cover Options FAQ.

1. Client name debossing

Your clients’ names are imprinted in the optical centre* of the front cover in uppercase. We use the font Univers Black (see example below). You have one line of text to play with and there is a physical limit to the number of characters – see below. Instead of your clients’ name(s) you could use the text for your studio name or wedding date.

12″ x 12″ albums: Maximum of 23 characters.
10″ x 10″ albums: Maximum of 19 characters.
8″ x 8″ albums: Maximum of 15 characters.

Please note that the characters available for text debossing are [A-Z],[0-9],[. & - ' ,]

* the optical centre is slightly higher than the physical centre point on the cover.

To ensure your album is manufactured and shipped before Santa climbs down your chimney, please have your orders submitted and files uploaded by 9am GMT on the following dates;

Folio bespoke design: Thursday 24th November

1st order with a bespoke logo die: Thursday 24th November

Your own album design: Thursday 1st December

Folio HQ will be closed from Monday 26th December and we will reopen in 2012 on Tuesday 3rd January.

Folio Albums 8×8 and Colour Cotton covers now available

We’re excited to announce some new additions to our store.

First up are our new 8″x8″ albums. We think these smaller main albums will be very popular with the portrait and boudoir photographers among you as well as an excellent option as parent’s albums for wedding clients. Just like the 10×10 and 12×12 albums the 8×8 can be ordered as a bespoke design or as a duplicate of another album. You’ll find more information in our FAQs.

Secondly, we now offer a new range of Colour Cotton covers. This range of heavyweight cotton covers has been selected for its environmental qualities and should be perfect for those who prefer a non-leather option. More details here.

Give your album exposure!

It’s the crazy season for wedding photographers and from speaking to many of you it’s a constant struggle to keep on top of the post production and album design.
